Another Application Year

So for those of you who don't know, we moved to Twin Falls 2 years ago with the intend for Ty to get his degree in radiography. Well we've been patiently waiting for the last two years for Ty to be accepted into the Rad Tech program. Last year Ty applied and we thought with his GPA a 4.0 and excellent rating on their scoring system that we would have a good chance of getting in. However they only accept 12 students and very few guys, so although he did get an interview, we was chosen as an alternate, rather than a finalist for that fall.

Well this last year, Ty took a few more classes so he can finish his bachelors when he's done.

June 1st he applied AGAIN and after waiting a few long days, he got a letter that he AGAIN had the opportunity to have an interview. Every year a few days after the interview they sent out a certified letter-that you have to be home to sign for- telling you if you made it in or not.

Well last night we got a notice that this morning his letter would be available to pick up at the post office. I finally talked Ty into meeting me there, first thing at 8:00 when it opened to find out. It was really silly! We were both standing there in front of the post office opening a ridiculous letter. Hoping and praying with all of our hearts...

HE GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now picture this being even weirder, as we jump up and down and give each other great big kisses! (I'm sure the guy dropping off his early morning packages thought we were CRAZY!!)

I'm so proud of you Ty! For all the work you put into your schooling to get AMAZING grades-even better than anything I did in college! For being patient and trusting in the Lord that this is what he really wants for you and working at a dead end job with ALL the drama and working hard to pay off all our debt until the application period came around again this year! For being just a little more humble and realizing your true potential and wanting more out of life, and not easily giving up.

I love you so much! More today than ever before! You have grown so much since the day we met and I love you for that. With all of my heart, I'll support you through these next several years!

  2. Woohoo! Congrats to Ty! I bet that is such a relief to you both! When Matt was applying for grad schools (and got two rejection letters before an acceptance) it was so hard because you can't really plan ahead until you know what's going to happen. I'm sure you guys are very excited! Way to go Ty!
