Last few days

I just wanted everyone to know how much fun life can be!

Last week I went to my very first Rodeo. I know...How can an Idaho native never have been to a rodeo? We had so much fun. It was Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Clown pulled out a huge bra and said this is my Mother-in-laws Bird Dog Bra.
Announcer how did you come up with that name?
Well you see it makes Setters into Pointers.

This past week we came back from camping early Tuesday morning or really late Monday with my parent’s boat in tow.

Tuesday Ty tried out his Coke rocket that I got in Portland.

Thursday was the first chance we had to use the boat. Ty and our friend Jordan, I and the dogs went to the lake (a wide spot in an irrigation canal that the county has put boat ramps at). The lake was all ours. Ty had the best Slalom ski run of his life after being dragged underwater for a mile or so because the boat is not what one might call a powerhouse. Jordan attempted a few back flips but never landed any, and I am just awesome at the wake board and I backed the trailer in a single try.

Friday night the Beehives came over for a Book of Mormon Read-a-thon. Ty hid out in the back and studied.

Saturday after breakfast the girls left and Ty and I were on our way to the Twin Falls Perrine Bridge Festival when the couple we meeting called and said no one is base jumping, it was too windy. If it is too windy to jump off a 400 foot bridge it is too windy to ski. So Ty has always wanted to see Balanced Rock near Buhl and I wanted to try a highly recommended Mexican restaurant, La Plaza, which is in the same general direction. Lunch was great. Ty just nodded his head every time the Non-English speaking waitress asked something, so we ended up trying a lot of yummy food.

Balanced Rock is crazy cool and there is a neat park nearby.

By the time we got back home the wind was gone and it was hot...Can anyone say ski time?! We called half the ward and everyone had some lame excuse of why they weren't able to come. We headed out anyway and enjoyed a warm evening on the water. Ty attempted a dock start on the slalom ski as an alternative to having me floor the gas and run up in the front of the boat trying to drag him around the lake like a dead cow!

When we got home I made some yummy homemade chicken noodle soup and Ty ate mostly the bread dipped in the broth and put the soup back!

Life is Good!

  1. Dude, when I read that you could not get ANYONE in your ward to come boating with you, I nearly cried. Ok, maybe not that drastic but if there were anyone in our ward that wanted us to go boating, we'd go in a heartbeat. That is so pathetic and sad...*sigh*

  2. Ty does a very good impression of Mel! I would have gone boating with you! But wait.....it would have taken 8.5 hours to get there....you might have been done by the time I got to SLC! :) OH p.s. Josh said hey we should do a triathalon like Ty and Melissa! Watch out you might have some tough competition!

  4. You guys made my day. Your blog was really funny and Karen and I had a good laugh. Gee, it really is too bad that you don't have a twin prop boat with a big block chev. pulling you out of the water instead of dragging you around like a dead cow.
